EMF METER:
USED TO MEASURE THE (ELECTRO MAGNETIC FIELDS) THAT SOME BELIEVE THE PARANORMAL USE TO MANIFEST THEMSELVES. THESE METERS CAN ALSO BE USED TO DOCUMENT HIGH LEVELS OF ELECTRICAL OUTPUT OF POWER SOURCES IN THE STRUCTURE. IF EMF READINGS ARE HIGH THEY CAN CAUSE PERSONS TO HALLUCINATE, FEEL NAUSEOUS, FEEL AS IF THEY'RE BEING WATCHED AND JUST CAUSE FEELINGS OF UNEASINESS.

Tips for recording EVP*

When you begin to record, state the location, time of investigation, weather conditions, and investigators names (those present). You will be glad later when you are trying to figure out which recording went with which investigation/room/date.
When recording investigators names it is wise to have each individual present state his or her own name. This aids in distinguishing one voice from another during tape review.
Voice activation mode should be deactivated on tape recorders during use when electronic voice phenomena is trying to be achieved due to the fact that it usually cuts off beginnings of words, sentences, and phrases.
If the recorder comes equipped with a tape counter record the locations on the tape where any audible phenomena is being heard during review.
Always use an external microphone with tape recorders instead of an internal one. Otherwise, you may record the gears of the recorder.
Do NOT whisper while on location. This may produce a sound that could be mistaken for an EVP.
As you are recording, be sure to make note of any sounds or noises so as to not confuse it with something paranormal during playback.
ANALOG VOICE RECORDERS:
BASICALLY THE SAME AS DIGITAL RECORDING, BUT THIS DEVICE INCORPORATES A TAPE FOR STORAGE OF RECORDINGS. (PLAYBACK IS OFTEN NOT AS CLEAR AS WITH DIGITAL RECORDING)
THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA:
A SPECIALLY DESIGNED CAMERA USED TO DISTINGUISH BETWEEN HOT & COLD IMAGES. A THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA CAN DETECT IF SOMETHING PARANORMAL MAY EXIST IN A PARTICULAR AREA OR IF IT'S AN ANIMAL OR ANOTHER EXPLAINABLE ANOMALY.
The Thermal Imaging Camera is more a debunking device used better when seeking evidence of animals or drafts under doors or windows, rarely will it ever pick up something paranormal but it has been known to. Some people believe that the paranormal will use any means at their disposal to draw energy & heat from their surroundings in order to manifest. That energy may come from you, any electrical devices,brand new batteries have been known to drain quickly. And sometimes an entity may draw energy from the very air in the room.
DIGITAL TEMPERATURE GAGE:
Basically just an ordinary temperature meter to measure fluctuations in air temp. Some believe that paranormal presence will make the surrounding air lose several degrees causing "Cold Spots"
MINI CAMCORDER:
The same camcorder you use when you go on vacation, or when you film Little Johnny's 1st. birthday. In the paranormal field Mini Camcorders are used to document the existence of unusual mists or unexplained entities. The camcorder is coupled with built in Night Vision or a Night Vision attachment to film the unexplained in total darkness.Another device that many investigators use is the IR Illuminator attached to their cameras to enhance the picture in total darkness.
NIGHT VISION:
As explained above, many investigators use an attached night vision supplement to aid their cameras built in lighting.
